S-CAB ReceiversAn S-CAB receiver can connect directly to a decoder's microprocessor (direct radio connect, DRC) or indirectly using a DCC booster. DRC is available for selected NCE and SoundTraxx decoders.

DecodersThese are NMRA-standard DCC decoders integrated with an S-CAB radio receiver using direct radio connect. They are installed in exactly the same manner as the original decoder.
Non-sound decodersNCE decoders are used for non-sound packages. Three versions are available with ratings of 1 and 4 amps.

NCE D16MTC with LXR-NEM ReceiverNCE D408SR with LXR-v4.3b ReceiverA 4 amp non-sound decoder for O-scale and larger. Compared to decoder, the receiver requires very little extra space and is connected by approx. 3 inch leads. This decoder cannot be powered by S-CAB battery power supply.

TSU-2200 with LXR-v4.3b ReceiverThe TSU-2200 is a universal 2 Amp digital sound decoder. It is suitable for a wide variety of models from HO to S scale.

TSU-4400 with LXR-v4.3b Receiver4 amp decoder: This 4-amp, universal-style digital sound decoder is suitable for models with higher stall currents such as some S, O, and large scale locomotives. This decoder cannot be powered by S-CAB battery power supply.

BPS-v5: Battery Power SupplyAn on-board, battery powered, 10 volt, 1 amp DC power supply.

BPS BatteriesSpecifically for use with BPS Battery Power Supply. Cells can be connected in parallel to increase storage capacity. Each BPS battery package is assembled with 2.5" leads, JST plug and a fuse for short-circuit protection.

Voltage is same as single cell, but energy storage is increased. For example, two 850 mAh cells in parallel provides 1700 mAh (1.7 Ah) storage. Standard package has back-to-back cells, which doubles thickness, but length and width is same as single cell.
Special Installation Situations
Battery power projects in HO scale locos often encounter difficult space limitations A battery arrangement configured to fit the available space can sometimes be helpful.
Split cell assembly: A double cell battery can be assembled with 2 cells connected by a length of wire that allows half of the battery (one cell) to be mounted each side of a loco motor or each side of a tender. Placing an OrderWhile this may seem inconvenient, it's not so easy to pick the best combination of components to achieve a desired objective while working within the space available in a small model.
